Wyoming permit practice test — 25 questions, 80% to pass, instant feedback after every answer.
We are building this out one state at a time. Rather than copy the same generic question set across all fifty states, we read each state’s official driver manual and write questions specific to it. That is slower, but it is the only way the practice is actually worth anything.
Need a state we have not covered yet? Tell us which one and we will move it up the list.
How our tests work
- Real test format. Same number of questions and same passing score as the official exam in your state.
- An explanation every time. Right or wrong, you are told why the correct answer is correct. That is where the learning happens.
- Fresh questions each attempt. Questions are drawn at random from a larger bank, so retaking is real practice rather than memorising an order.
- A review at the end. Every question you missed is listed with its answer and explanation, so you know exactly what to study next.
- Works on your phone. No app to install and nothing to sign up for.
How to actually pass your permit test
The people who fail usually did one of two things: they skimmed the manual and hoped, or they took practice tests until the score looked good without ever reading the manual at all. Neither works well.
What works is straightforward. Read your state’s official driver manual properly, cover to cover. Then use practice tests to find the gaps. When you miss a question, do not just note the right answer — go back to the manual section it came from and read it again. Repeat until you are scoring above 90% consistently, because practice scores usually run higher than real ones.
Most people can do this in a week of short daily sessions. Cramming the night before is where failures come from.
Why this site is free
Because the material to prepare for a government driving test should not cost money. The site is supported by advertising, which means we never need to put a test behind a payment wall or trade your email address for a score.
Pass The Permit is an independent study resource and is not affiliated with any DMV, Department of Transportation, or government agency. Our questions are original practice material, not real exam questions. Always confirm current requirements with your official state driver manual.
